Step 3 of the Loop · Take it
Three Green Lights
You don't need fifty indicators. You need three green lights: the trend agrees with you, price is at a level that matters, and there's a clear line where you're wrong. Three greens make a setup eligible. Two or fewer, you pass. Eligible means allowed, never required.
Contract price optional
The three lights
Light 1 · TrendThe trend agrees with me
Answered premarket, in your plan
Light 2 · LevelPrice is at a level that matters
Support or resistance you can name: prior-day high, low or close, today's open. Not no-man's-land.
I marked this level before the openRequired
Settled: your plan was filed before the bell
A level drawn after the move doesn't count. If you draw the line after the move, you'll always find one.
Light 3 · InvalidationThere's a clear line where I'm wrong
If the underlying gets there, the idea is dead and you're out. No negotiating with it in the moment.
Answered premarket: the price is on your candidate card
Write the price down. If you can't say where you're wrong, the line isn't clear yet.
Contract check
Opens at three green lights. There's no contract to pick for a setup that isn't eligible.
Optional before the open: you often won't know the contract yet. Fill it in when you pick one and it's checked against your criteria and your allowable loss.
Change my contract criteria
Saved in your risk profile. Starting defaults, not magic numbers. 0 days allows same-day (0 DTE) contracts. Your coach may set tighter ones for you.
